Arthur Ollman

Arthur Ollman is a multifaceted American figure, notable for his work in photography, curation, and academia. With a career spanning various fields, he has established himself as a prominent expert in the history of photography. As a photographer, Ollman has developed a unique perspective, which is reflected in his work and contributions to the field.
Ollman's academic and professional career is marked by significant appointments and achievements. He served as the founding director of The Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego from 1983 to 2006, playing a crucial role in shaping the institution. Additionally, he held the position of director of the School of Art, Design and Art History at San Diego State University from 2006 to 2011. Ollman has also authored and contributed to numerous books and catalogs, totaling over twenty-five publications, and has held leadership positions, including president of the board of directors for the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography. Currently, he holds the title of professor emeritus at San Diego State University.
