Lippmann Hirsch Löwenstein was a prominent German Hebrew scholar, born in 1809. His expertise lay in the field of literature, where he made notable contributions. As part of his career, Löwenstein held the position of reviser at the publishing house of Isaac Lehrberger, located in Rödelheim. This role was significant in the dissemination of literary works, and he was later succeeded by Seligman Baer.

Löwenstein's life took a tumultuous turn in 1848, when he was expelled from Frankfurt due to his involvement in revolutionary activities.
